DESCRIPTION:Artist’s Talk\, Saturday 7 June\, 5pm\nOpen Studio\, Friday 27 June from 4 till 7pm\nBoth events are free\, no need to book\nContinuing the studio exchange between CAST and CaSa (Centro de las Artes de San Agustín) in Oaxaca\, we are delighted to welcome Lissette Jiménez Díaz for a month-long residency at CAST. \nLissette has a particular interest in museums and archeological sites and is keen to explore Cornwall’s ancient history and geology during her time at CAST. Her work involves photography\, video\, and installation.  \nLissette will give an informal talk introducing her work on Saturday 7 June at 5pm and will hold an open studio at the end of her residency at CAST\, on Friday 27 June. \nImage of Lissette in her studio\, courtesy the artist.

SUMMARY:Drolla Story Telling Bench Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Commissioned and co-designed by Cornwall National Landscape team and crafted by renowned Cornish metal sculptors Thrussells\, Drolla\, which takes its name from the Cornish word for “folk tale” seamlessly blends intricate artistry with functional design. \nAccompanying Drolla at Penrose will be a photography exhibition displaying some fantastic shots of the winning photos from Cornwall National Landscape’s photography competition run during 2024 with the overarching theme of ‘Celebrating People and Place’ with participants asked to capture what makes Cornwall National Landscape special to them\, from flora and fauna\, to bees\, birds and diverse landscapes.

Your quest\, is to follow the numbered points\, find the sword and be dubbed a Knight of the Round Table. \n\nBooking not needed\nFree event (admission applies)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLoe Pool\, is one of the nation’s lakes reputed to be the final resting place for Excalibur\, King Arthur’s famous sword. Join us at the Stables Cafe to collect your scroll. Follow the medieval map to 10 trail points. Use your imagination to complete the quest by finding Excalibur and becoming a Knight of the Round Table.

Be guided through simple drawing prompts\, and notice what you notice. Be part of a gentle ripple of movement through the space\, echoing the shifting sunlight as it passes through the building. Or simply sit and observe: witnessing can be a powerful way to take part in a group activity.  \n \nThis is a collaboration between choreographer Kyra Norman\, composer Kath Buckler and artist Faye Dobinson. Come join in.
