SUMMARY:Exhibition - Nature Recovery in Cornwall
DESCRIPTION:On a single day in summer\, one acre of wildflower meadow can contain 3 million flowers\, producing 1kg of nectar sugar. That’s enough to support nearly 96\,000 honeybees per day. \n97% of species-rich grassland has been lost in the UK since the 1930s\, with the remaining 3% mostly fragmented across the country\, leaving little room for wildlife to spread. \nExplore how the National Trust and partners are tackling these issues\, through the Coastal Meadows project and the Lizard Rarities Project\, in this photography exhibition.

SUMMARY:William Wegman and Man Ray
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition brings together a selection of William Wegman’s wryly comedic single-take video works\, shot between 1972 and 1973\, with two longer works. Man Ray\, Man Ray\, 1978\, is a parody documentary in which the narrative slides humorously between biographical details relating to the Dada and Surrealist artist Man Ray and those belonging to Man Ray\, Wegman’s camera-loving Weimaraner dog. Around the Park\, 2007\, offers a deadpan observation of a full cast of Weimaraners taking on the roles of regular park goers and workers in Madison Square Park\, New York.\nIn his short films\, Wegman guides the viewer to look intently at the simplest actions and objects\, making often humorous connections that invite us to think differently about things. SUMMARY:Soul Sundays VII
DESCRIPTION:A mini retreat morning in a wood fired barn\, featuring yoga\, TRE & rest.\nWe’ll start our morning with a nourishing cup of warm cacao drink when you arrive. We’ll then ease into some gentle yoga to stretch your body\, ground your energy and clear your mind. After a small pause\, we’ll begin a TRE practice. TRE (or tension and trauma release exercises) is a gentle and holistic way to begin to unwind held patterns in the body by introducing a very natural and calming tremor response in the body. More on TRE on my website and below. \nLike a snow globe\, after our exercises and shake to stir things up a little\, we will have a long and guided savasana to settle our energy before ending\, as always\, with tea\, some yummy treats and time to chit chat if you’d like to\, or stay snuggled up in a blanket and be quiet. If it’s cooler\, the log fire will be on and the floor will be heated. \nAbout TRE \nTRE is a set of exercises that are designed to engender a natural tremor in the body. We use the tremors therapeutically to release muscle tension\, calm the nervous system and to bring the body and mind back into balance. It’s a very safe\, natural process that all mammals have the ability to do. The practice is about teaching the body to remember how to do it.
