DESCRIPTION:On a single day in summer\, one acre of wildflower meadow can contain 3 million flowers\, producing 1kg of nectar sugar. That’s enough to support nearly 96\,000 honeybees per day. \n97% of species-rich grassland has been lost in the UK since the 1930s\, with the remaining 3% mostly fragmented across the country\, leaving little room for wildlife to spread. \nExplore how the National Trust and partners are tackling these issues\, through the Coastal Meadows project and the Lizard Rarities Project\, in this photography exhibition.

Only ever register with parkrun once and don’t forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode (request a reminder). SUMMARY:Screening - Manifesto
DESCRIPTION:Ane Hjort Guttu’s film Manifesto\, 2020\, (27 min) speculates on the aims and purposes of institutional art education. Newly migrated into a university and an open-plan campus building\, an art school feels cornered by a suffocating culture of surveillance and administration. Staff and students find ways to subvert control through secret operations. Drawing on her own experiences as an art teacher\, Ane Hjort Guttu explores what is lost when creativity is replaced by order and provides action plans for how to be the playful rebel. \nAne Hjort Guttu is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Oslo. She works across a range of media\, with a particular focus on text and moving images. Her practice explores the relationship between freedom and power\, how we navigate public space\, individual autonomy\, and the social\, economic\, and political conditions of art. \nFrom 13 to 20 March 2026 Ane Hjort Guttu will be leading the eighth Cornwall Workshop\, a weeklong intensive residential workshop for artists\, curators and writers based in Cornwall and the South West. The workshop is organised by CAST and hosted at Kestle Barton on the Lizard peninsula.

Will they turn London into a dirty\, rotten town that they and their fellow rats can rule once and for all? Or will Dick find confidence\, hope and bravery in the Bells of London who convince him to turn around and defeat King Rat as foretold in their prophecy? \nDick is helped along on his journey through the support of Alice Fitzwarren the local Alderman’s daughter and the most friendly and welcoming person in all of London. Alongside her father\, Idle Jane and chef Betty Bassett\, they welcome Dick – and his new found friend Mowzer the Cat – to their Sweet Shop. But with the sweet times behind them and the cruel and bitter attacks of King Rat and his Rat Army\, they must go on a journey to distant lands with the drunken Captain Hogwash and the motley crew of the ‘SS Dreckly’. Will they find the help they seek? Or will King Rat cause them to never see the promised lands of a rat-free London? \nJoin us for an unforgettable adventure of merriment and wonder as we celebrate the inspiring tale of courage and prophecy in ‘Dick Whittington’ this January.
