DESCRIPTION:Everyone has a garment that they wish would last forever\, or that they could get in lots of different colours and fabrics. Come along on this class\, and learn how to trace off your favourite pair of trousers\, so that you have a fully workable pattern to take home and make again and again. \nDuring this class\, you will learn how to make a paper pattern from your favourite pair of trousers\, without having to unpick a thing! We will be creating the pattern\, adding seam allowance\, and even making small pattern changes\, such as changing the length\, or adding a seam line. \nThere won’t be time to make your garment on the course\, but we will talk about construction techniques and the order to sew it at the end. If your pattern has quite a few pieces\, you might not have finalised all pieces by the end of the session. \nPlease bring along something old and loved from your wardrobe or something vintage – we cannot trace recently purchased garments from the last 5-10 years.

SUMMARY:Large Pottery Course
DESCRIPTION:4 week handbuilding course with Rosa Lily James \nOver four weeks\, attendees will work with ceramic artist Rosa Lily James with a focus on using hand building and surface decorating techniques to create one large pot each. \nYou will learn pinch\, coil and slab roll techniques. \nThis course will run once a week for two and half hours over a 4 week period; works will be bisque and glaze fired in our studio glaze before being available for collection from the studio. \nEach attendee will have up to 5 pots fired. \nWhat to bring? Please bring your own apron and towel to each session. All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable. \nCollection: Ceramic work will be ready 6 weeks after the final workshop to allow time for pieces to be glazed and fired. Pots can be collected from the studio at CAST during Open Access Sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm – 8:30pm and Friday afternoons 1:30pm – 4:30pm. \n£160 includes tuition\, equipment\, materials and firing of up to 5 pieces. \n  \nMinimum attendees 4.  In the unlikely event that we do not reach this number we may need to cancel the class\, in which case we will contact you three weeks before the start date and refund you fully. \n  \nPhoto Credit: Amelia Pemberton ©
