Race on our interactive running track. Discover the game pieces that the community helped make at our Play It Again workshop. See the bunting you helped create fluttering over the park. \nThe mural is free to play and here to stay — a permanent new addition to Coronation Park that families can enjoy all year round. The interactive running track will be in place all summer long too. \nToday is just the beginning of a whole summer of free family fun at the park. Come and play. It’s yours. \nWith thanks to Helston Town Council for supporting Playful Park. \nWhat is Playful Park? \nPlayful Park is our 2026 project transforming Coronation Park into a vibrant destination for family fun all summer long. At its heart is a spectacular giant painted floor mural designed by local artist Lisa Curtis — packed with games for all ages\, free to play and here to stay as a permanent new addition to the park. Alongside the mural\, there’s an interactive running track\, community bunting-making\, the Big Scribble (where you get to draw all over the paths!)\, a two-day games expo\, busking from local young musicians\, Play in a Day with the Minack\, roaming Commedia dell’arte\, Wake the Giant\, a family sports day and much more running right through the summer holidays.

Our second free open-air screening of the summer brings Disney’s Encanto to the big screen at Coronation Park. \nJoin the Madrigal family in their magical Colombian casita for an afternoon of irresistible songs\, stunning animation and a beautiful story about family\, belonging and being yourself. Pack a picnic\, grab something from Lakeside Cafe\, spread out your blankets and enjoy an afternoon of Disney joy in the great outdoors. \nWe guarantee you’ll be singing “Surface Pressure” on the way home. This is one of four free open-air cinema screenings this summer\, brought to you by the South Kerrier Alliance — completely free for the whole community. \nThis film is rated PG. \nSupport free events at Coronation Park \nThis year\, over 60% of our events at Coronation Park are completely free. We do this because we believe that everyone in Helston and on The Lizard deserves access to brilliant events — regardless of what’s in their pocket. The South Kerrier Alliance CIC is a not-for-profit organisation and we don’t receive any regular public funding. Every free event we put on is only possible because of the support of people like you.
