SUMMARY:Predannack Anti-Aircraft Battery Museum Open Days
DESCRIPTION:Join us for one of our limited event days of 2025 at the only WW2 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery that is not only preserved but re-armed. \nGet up close to the gun batteries\, 3 of which are re-armed with Vickers 3.7’’ Heavy Anti-Aircraft Guns\, the same type of gun as installed during the war\, one of which will be fired during the event. \nIn addition to the guns\, we have a developing display in the former command bunker\, with a vast array of historic items\, telling the story of Anti-Aircraft Artillery and the war on the Lizard and surrounding area. \nAs well as our permanent exhibits we will be joined by local reenactment groups and visiting historic military vehicles. \nOur open days are a unique experience for all the family to enjoy and include living history and reenactors displays plus gun firing demonstrations. \nMuseum opening times: 10am – 3.30pm\nNAAFI Catering Truck for food and drinks\nFree Parking and toilets\nEntry Fee – pay what you decide \nThe Museum is located off the A3083 to The Lizard between Trevelyan Holiday Homes and Windmill Farm Nature Reserve. Drive past the Cider Barn\, slow down when you see Trevelyan Chalets and Lizard Tackle. the Museum is on the right\, 50 yards past the turning for Ruan Minor.

Regular practice can lead to better sleep\, reduced anxiety\, and improved mood. \nThe South Kerrier Alliance CIC own and run Coronation Park for the “benefit of the residents of Helston and The Lizard” and we want everyone to be able to enjoy our events. \nThe series of Yoga sessions in Coronation Park is being funded by South Kerrier Alliance CIC. Kirsty\, our qualified and experienced instructor\, is great at leading mixed-ability sessions. It’s the perfect chance to try yoga for the first time. \nHowever\, please note: \nIf you’re under the care of a doctor or medical professional\, speak with them before attending. \nIf you’ve been advised not to take part in physical activity\, are pregnant\, or have a medical condition\, illness\, or injury\, please do not take part in Yoga in the Park. \nKirsty cannot offer specific medical advice\, but she ensures plenty of accessible options during the session. \nYoga is a physical activity and you participate at your own risk. \nDo I need to book?No booking needed — just turn up! DESCRIPTION:A one-off session allowing you to have a go on the wheel and learn to pinch and coil your first pots! Perfect for beginners\, families\, as a gift\, or a refresher and introduction to the studio if you’ve done a bit before. \n£50 includes tuition\, equipment\, materials and firing of 3 pieces. \nFor 18 years and over. \nWhat to bring? All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable and please bring an apron. \nCollection: Ceramic work will be ready 6 weeks after the final workshop to allow time for pieces to be dried\, fired\, and glazed. Pots can be collected from the studio at CAST during Open Access Sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm – 8:30pm and Friday afternoons 1:30pm – 4:30pm.

Those who are working\, keep going\, you can do it! \n\nWednesday’s are a super chilled day at Roll the Dice HQ: we have our make\, paint and chill session running from open (10) until 4pm\, allowing lots of time for people to drop in and catch up on their pile of potential. We do ask for £2 for the session to help cover the costs\, including our community paints.\nIn the afternoon we have our Beginner’s Pokémon TCG Session – this is perfect for anyone wanting to learn the game\, hone their deck building skills or perfect their battling technique. The session is £4 for 2 hours of Poke-fun!\n\nFinally\, this evening our Play! Pokemon TCG evening and our Lorcana evening return! Whilst these are official organised play evenings\, you are more than welcome to attend if you are a beginner player of either of these games – both communities are warm\, friendly and welcoming\, with players more than happy to help out those who are starting on their journey. The evening is £2 if you wish to just come and play\, or £6 if you want to grab a booster with the entry ticket.

DESCRIPTION:What is Man Down ??\nWe are here to help reduce the number of male suicides and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by offering men the space to talk about their emotions. The main way we do this is by facilitating free-to-attend fortnightly informal talking group meetings held at locations all over the UK.\n\nWhat happens at Man Down Helston ??\nEvery two weeks on a Tuesday at 7pm we invite men to come along and talk about their mental health as part of a supportive talking group. By offering the chance to speak and listening to others\, together we break down the stigma associated with talking about our emotions. All attending agree to the sessions being a confidential\, non-judgemental and safe space to share. We also offer social meet ups and an online peer support group for those that have attended a face-to-face talking group meeting.
