DESCRIPTION:Cara Mamma (24 mins) draws on a series of candid personal letters exchanged between Daniela and her adult child Naissa over a three-year period\, combining these with dream-like allegorical sequences and cinema verité. The film follows Naissa as he stands firmly for his independence and identity as a trans man\, and Daniela as she wrestles with her fear of losing a daughter. As Naissa embarks on his professional dance career and proudly embodies his gender\, his mother also embarks on a journey of understanding and acceptance of her son’s choices. \nI think trans youth in my position and parents in my mum’s position need to see themselves represented\, and need to see the conversations in such a raw but also loving way. All we ever hear from the media is someone coming out as trans and either their parents embracing them immediately or throwing them out. Relationships are so much more complex than that\, and the grey area from coming out to acceptance needs to be seen unapologetically. \nNaissa \nNaissa and Daniela approached documentary filmmaker Sky Neal to make this film as a way of sharing their experience. Sky\, the director of Satya Films\, grew up in Cornwall and currently lives in Porthleven. There are no fees and it is not necessary to be a good linguist; we have speakers at all levels from beginner to fluent. We cater for everyone who has an interest in speaking another language. \nOrganised by members of Helston and District Town Twinning Association\, there are opportunities to become involved in Helston’s twinning with Sasso Marconi and Plougasnou\, though this is entirely optional! \nThere are regular groups of French\, Italian\, and Spanish speakers\, though we’re always looking to include new languages\, so come along!

DESCRIPTION:Get outdoors and get fit with the Trust10 running trail through the countryside of Godolphin. Join a fun\, free and friendly trail run around the beautiful Godolphin estate. Two loops of 5km with stunning views throughout.  \nTrust10 happens on the fourth Sunday of every month and includes two laps of a 5km route at Godolphin\, so 5km runners are welcome too. \nRegistration opens from 8.30am\, pre-run briefing is at 8.55am and the run starts at 9am. \nPlease note: Godolphin garden\, tea-room and outbuildings do not open until 10am. Toilets are open and available for use.

DESCRIPTION:Join Lucy Grant and the CAST learning team in our ground floor studio for a drop-in shadow play workshop. Timed to coincide with the spring equinox\, this hands-on workshop offers lots to learn\, see and do. \nCraft your own articulated spring-themed shadow puppets with guidance from Lucy and team. Then move into the perfect darkness of the black box screening space\, where renowned local puppeteer and animator Mae Voogd will be on hand to help you explore techniques for performing with your creations. \nWe’ll also be showing a shadow play animation by Mae Voogd.
