DESCRIPTION:A one-off session allowing you to have a go on the wheel and learn to pinch and coil your first pots! Perfect for beginners\, families\, as a gift\, or a refresher and introduction to the studio if you’ve done a bit before. \n£50 includes tuition\, equipment\, materials and firing of 3 pieces. \nFor 18 years and over. \nWhat to bring? All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable and please bring an apron. \nCollection: Ceramic work will be ready 6 weeks after the final workshop to allow time for pieces to be dried\, fired\, and glazed. Pots can be collected from the studio at CAST during Open Access Sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm – 8:30pm and Friday afternoons 1:30pm – 4:30pm. \n  \nMinimum attendees 4.  If we do not reach this number we may need to cancel the class\, in which case you will be notified and refunded three weeks before the start date.

Jim is known for his exceptional quality and delivery of song and has written and arranged\, produced\, directed and performed music for Kneehigh\, Miracle\, The National Theatre\, Nottingham Playhouse\, The Eden project\, Wild Works\, Golden Tree (The Man Engine)\, C-Scape Dance co\, Hall for Cornwall and has lead or been part of many other music projects. \nGiles King – Clarinet\, bag pipes\, whistle\, saxophone and vocals. We will have lots of apple themed craft activities including the chance to make your own 3d creation and add in a very hungry worm or other autumnal creature. \nMasks are often seen at Halloween so you can also choose to make your own mini-mask with us that you can take home and use. You can make it fabulous and fun or spooky and scary\, it is up to you! \n  \nRecommended for families with children aged 5yrs+ \nAll materials will be supplied and we endeavour to repurpose and reuse materials as much as we can to try to cut down on waste and bring new life to things we normally throw away. \nDrop-In session\, no booking required . DESCRIPTION:Under the guidance of Finn Leaman\, this course runs once a week for two and half hours over a 7 week period with no class between week 5 and 6 to allow for the bisque firing of work ready to be glazed on the final session. Learn\, refresh and refine your throwing skills; you will explore how to make a variety of forms using a range of techniques and processes. \nThis course is for people who have had some previous experience on a wheel or none at all. \nEach attendee will have up to 5 pots fired. \nWhat to bring? All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable. Please bring your own apron and towel to each session. \nCollection: Ceramic work will be ready 4 weeks after the final workshop to allow time for pieces to be fired. Pots can be collected from the studio at CAST during Open Access Sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm – 8:30pm and Friday afternoons 1:30pm – 4:30pm. \n£240 includes tuition\, equipment\, materials and firing of 5 pieces.

DESCRIPTION:What is Man Down ??\nWe are here to help reduce the number of male suicides and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by offering men the space to talk about their emotions. The main way we do this is by facilitating free-to-attend fortnightly informal talking group meetings held at locations all over the UK.\n\nWhat happens at Man Down Helston ??\nEvery two weeks on a Tuesday at 7pm we invite men to come along and talk about their mental health as part of a supportive talking group. By offering the chance to speak and listening to others\, together we break down the stigma associated with talking about our emotions. All attending agree to the sessions being a confidential\, non-judgemental and safe space to share. We also offer social meet ups and an online peer support group for those that have attended a face-to-face talking group meeting.
