That’s enough to support nearly 96\,000 honeybees per day. \n97% of species-rich grassland has been lost in the UK since the 1930s\, with the remaining 3% mostly fragmented across the country\, leaving little room for wildlife to spread. \nExplore how the National Trust and partners are tackling these issues\, through the Coastal Meadows project and the Lizard Rarities Project\, in this photography exhibition.

DESCRIPTION:A mini retreat morning in a wood fired barn\, featuring yoga\, TRE & rest.\nWe’ll start our morning with a nourishing cup of warm cacao drink when you arrive. We’ll then ease into some gentle yoga to stretch your body\, ground your energy and clear your mind. After a small pause\, we’ll begin a TRE practice. TRE (or tension and trauma release exercises) is a gentle and holistic way to begin to unwind held patterns in the body by introducing a very natural and calming tremor response in the body. More on TRE on my website and below. \nLike a snow globe\, after our exercises and shake to stir things up a little\, we will have a long and guided savasana to settle our energy before ending\, as always\, with tea\, some yummy treats and time to chit chat if you’d like to\, or stay snuggled up in a blanket and be quiet. If it’s cooler\, the log fire will be on and the floor will be heated. \nAbout TRE \nTRE is a set of exercises that are designed to engender a natural tremor in the body. We use the tremors therapeutically to release muscle tension\, calm the nervous system and to bring the body and mind back into balance. It’s a very safe\, natural process that all mammals have the ability to do. The practice is about teaching the body to remember how to do it. Staff and students find ways to subvert control through secret operations. Drawing on her own experiences as an art teacher\, Ane Hjort Guttu explores what is lost when creativity is replaced by order and provides action plans for how to be the playful rebel. \nAne Hjort Guttu is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Oslo. She works across a range of media\, with a particular focus on text and moving images. Her practice explores the relationship between freedom and power\, how we navigate public space\, individual autonomy\, and the social\, economic\, and political conditions of art. \nFrom 13 to 20 March 2026 Ane Hjort Guttu will be leading the eighth Cornwall Workshop\, a weeklong intensive residential workshop for artists\, curators and writers based in Cornwall and the South West. The workshop is organised by CAST and hosted at Kestle Barton on the Lizard peninsula.

DESCRIPTION:Commencing 27th January for 6-weeks\nSession Times: 6pm-7pm\nBOOK HERE\nEver wanted to try DJing? Here’s your chance to get hands-on with the decks and learn from the pros. \nJoin Professional Tutors and DJs from Amplify for 6-weeks of DJ School where you can discover what it takes to mix tracks\, create transitions\, and get a crowd moving. DESCRIPTION:What is Man Down ??\nWe are here to help reduce the number of male suicides and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by offering men the space to talk about their emotions. The main way we do this is by facilitating free-to-attend fortnightly informal talking group meetings held at locations all over the UK.\n\nWhat happens at Man Down Helston ??\nEvery two weeks on a Tuesday at 7pm we invite men to come along and talk about their mental health as part of a supportive talking group. By offering the chance to speak and listening to others\, together we break down the stigma associated with talking about our emotions. All attending agree to the sessions being a confidential\, non-judgemental and safe space to share. We also offer social meet ups and an online peer support group for those that have attended a face-to-face talking group meeting.

DESCRIPTION:The aim of the course is to come away with a well fitted dress block (a basic dress pattern with fitted bodice\, pencil skirt and fitted sleeve). Having your own block is so useful and essential for making new patterns at home. \nPlease note\, we will not be drafting the block from scratch\, we will be amending a block to fit you. We will start by taking measurements and amending the pattern where possible first. Then you will make a toile of the dress in calico to fit. You will have a couple of fittings\, as we refine the fit of the garment in stages. These fitting techniques can be applied to any dress/top pattern that you use in future!

DESCRIPTION:Ane Hjort Guttu’s film Manifesto\, 2020\, (27 min) speculates on the aims and purposes of institutional art education. Newly migrated into a university and an open-plan campus building\, an art school feels cornered by a suffocating culture of surveillance and administration. Staff and students find ways to subvert control through secret operations. Drawing on her own experiences as an art teacher\, Ane Hjort Guttu explores what is lost when creativity is replaced by order and provides action plans for how to be the playful rebel. \nAne Hjort Guttu is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Oslo. She works across a range of media\, with a particular focus on text and moving images. Her practice explores the relationship between freedom and power\, how we navigate public space\, individual autonomy\, and the social\, economic\, and political conditions of art. \nFrom 13 to 20 March 2026 Ane Hjort Guttu will be leading the eighth Cornwall Workshop\, a weeklong intensive residential workshop for artists\, curators and writers based in Cornwall and the South West. The workshop is organised by CAST and hosted at Kestle Barton on the Lizard peninsula.

DESCRIPTION:The aim of the class is to come away with a well fitted trouser block. Having your own block is so useful and essential for making new patterns at home. We will be drafting the block from scratch from your measurements\, so please wear leggings so that we can get accurate measurements before we start. After we have drafted the block and added seam allowance\, we will make up a quick toile in calico to check the fit\, before making any adjustments on the pattern. Please note you will not have a finished pair of trousers to take home\, you will have a calico toile and pattern block. From your block you can then make pattern design alterations\, such as adding pockets\, adding a waistband or waist facing\, seam lines etc at home.
