DESCRIPTION:This presentation of two short films\, made some twenty years apart\, offers a window into the creative processes of celebrated South African artist William Kentridge.  \nJourney to the Moon (2003) is a playful response to the 1902 Georges Méliès film Le Voyage dans la Lune. It follows Kentridge (and his coffee cup) from the studio into his own drawn world. His new film Fugitive Words (2024)\, which will have its first UK presentation at CAST\, unfolds entirely within the pages of one of Kentridge’s notebooks. Internationally renowned harp and electronica duo FitkinWall follow threads of migration\, loss and longing in their new show. Ruth Wall’s explorations into Gaelic song\, fiddle and pipe tunes and the history of the Scottish Highlands where she grew up have a particular focus on migration and the Highland Clearances. Graham Fitkin has created enigmatic and mesmerising new versions of these tunes for Ruth’s three harps – the sitar-like Renaissance bray harp\, the beautiful medieval Gaelic wire harp (clàrsach) and the Scottish lever harp.  Ruth’s passion for the highly ornamented Scottish pibroch piping technique informs her playing style and inspires the sound world of this fascinating and unique concert.

Regular practice can lead to better sleep\, reduced anxiety\, and improved mood. \nThe South Kerrier Alliance CIC own and run Coronation Park for the “benefit of the residents of Helston and The Lizard” and we want everyone to be able to enjoy our events. \nThe series of Yoga sessions in Coronation Park is being funded by South Kerrier Alliance CIC. Kirsty\, our qualified and experienced instructor\, is great at leading mixed-ability sessions. It’s the perfect chance to try yoga for the first time. \nHowever\, please note: \nIf you’re under the care of a doctor or medical professional\, speak with them before attending. \nIf you’ve been advised not to take part in physical activity\, are pregnant\, or have a medical condition\, illness\, or injury\, please do not take part in Yoga in the Park. \nKirsty cannot offer specific medical advice\, but she ensures plenty of accessible options during the session. \nYoga is a physical activity and you participate at your own risk. \nDo I need to book?No booking needed — just turn up! Please arrive on time as important safety info and the warm-up happen at the start. Latecomers won’t be able to join the session. \nAre families welcome?Yes! Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or carer\, who should stay nearby at all times.
