Learn\, refresh and refine your throwing skills; you will explore how to make a variety of forms using a range of techniques and processes. \nThis course is for people who have had some previous experience on a wheel or none at all. \nEach attendee will have up to 5 pots fired. \nWhat to bring? All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable. Please bring your own apron and towel to each session. \nCollection: Ceramic work will be ready 4 weeks after the final workshop to allow time for pieces to be fired. SUMMARY:Throwing for Beginners and Improvers
DESCRIPTION:Under the guidance of Finn Leaman\, this course runs once a week for two and half hours over a 7 week period with no class between week 5 and 6 to allow for the bisque firing of work ready to be glazed on the final session. Learn\, refresh and refine your throwing skills; you will explore how to make a variety of forms using a range of techniques and processes. \nThis course is for people who have had some previous experience on a wheel or none at all. \nEach attendee will have up to 5 pots fired. \nWhat to bring? All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable. Please bring your own apron and towel to each session. \nCollection: Ceramic work will be ready 4 weeks after the final workshop to allow time for pieces to be fired. Pots can be collected from the studio at CAST during Open Access Sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm – 8:30pm and Friday afternoons 1:30pm – 4:30pm. \n£240 includes tuition\, equipment\, materials and firing of 5 pieces.

DESCRIPTION:A one-off session allowing you to have a go on the wheel and learn to pinch and coil your first pots! Perfect for beginners\, families\, as a gift\, or a refresher and introduction to the studio if you’ve done a bit before. \n£50 includes tuition\, equipment\, materials and firing of 3 pieces. \nFor 18 years and over. \nWhat to bring? All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable and please bring an apron. \nCollection: Ceramic work will be ready 6 weeks after the final workshop to allow time for pieces to be dried\, fired\, and glazed. Pots can be collected from the studio at CAST during Open Access Sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm – 8:30pm and Friday afternoons 1:30pm – 4:30pm. \n  \nMinimum attendees 4.  If we do not reach this number we may need to cancel the class\, in which case you will be notified and refunded three weeks before the start date.

DESCRIPTION:Exploring functional wares and creating\, attendees will work with ceramic artist Rosa Lily James\, taking inspiration from celebration\, ritual and togetherness. \nYou will learn pinch\, coil and slab roll techniques to make wares for your future feasts. \nThis course will run once a week for two and half hours over a 4 week period; works will be bisque and glaze fired in our studio glaze before being available for collection from the studio. \nEach attendee will have up to 5 pots fired. \nWhat to bring? Please bring your own apron and towel to each session. All tools and materials will be provided.
