SUMMARY:The Crucible
DESCRIPTION:Join Helston Theatre Company for their retelling of Arthur Miller’s iconic play.\nConsumed by paranoia\, superstition and a ruthless sense of justice\, a climate of fear and mass hysteria sweeps through the town of Salem\, Massachusetts when rumors grow that a group of girls are practicing witchcraft. What lies are the townspeople prepared to tell themselves in order to survive? \nWritten by award-winning American playwright Arthur Miller\, this seminal political history play about Salem in 1692 (and McCarthy’s 1950s America) is a timeless warning to us all. It’s a visceral\, gripping adventure into a desperate\, dangerous world where everyone is implicated\, and nobody is safe! \nThis intense drama promises to be a theatrical highlight of 2026\, showcasing the dramatic talents of our company in one of the greatest plays of the 20th century.

SUMMARY:The Crucible - Launch and Readthrough
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to launch our 2026 play: Arthur Miller’s ‘The Crucible’ \nPerformance dates will be w/c 20th April 2026 (a week later than previously announced) \nDirector – Alex Ould \nLaunch Date – Wednesday 8th October\, 7pm \nAudition Date – Sunday 26th October (Wednesday 22nd October will be a possibility for those who cannot make the Sunday). SUMMARY:Theatre: The Railway Children from Helston Theatre Company
DESCRIPTION:The Railway Children" is a timeless tale that captures the imagination and heart of audiences young and old. Adapted from E. Nesbit’s cherished novel\, this production promises a captivating experience under the open sky of Helston Railway. Set against the backdrop of a country railway station in the early 1900s\, the story follows the lives of the Waterbury children—Roberta\, Peter\, and Phyllis—who are uprooted from their comfortable city life to a rural village after their father is mysteriously taken away. The children\, along with their mother\, Mrs. Waterbury\, must adjust to their new surroundings and limited means\, but they soon discover solace and adventure in the nearby railway. Helston Theatre Company’s rendition of "The Railway Children" promises to transport spectators into a bygone era\, where steam engines puff through the countryside and childhood innocence thrives amid adversity. With a blend of humor\, suspense\, and touching moments\, this production celebrates the triumph of good over evil and the enduring spirit of hope. Whether you’re a fan of the classic tale or discovering it for the first time\, join us in Helston this August for an unforgettable theatrical journey through the enchanting world of "The Railway Children
