SUMMARY:Kernewek Keskesow Cabaret
DESCRIPTION:by Scary Little Girls & Greenham Women Everywhere \nIn September 1981\, a group of women marched from Cardiff to RAF Greenham Common to protest the siting of American cruise missiles on British soil. What began as a ten-day walk became a 19-year occupation that changed the face of peaceful protest forever. Women from across Britain—including many from Cornwall—left their homes\, their jobs\, sometimes their families\, to live in benders and tents through every weather\, facing arrest\, eviction and hostility\, united by the belief that they could change the world. And they did. \nNow\, Scary Little Girls and Greenham Women Everywhere CIC invite you to an evening celebrating the extraordinary contribution Cornish women made to this iconic movement. \nJoin us for a cabaret night filled with songs and stories from Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp. Through verbatim theatre and music\, performers including Rebecca Mordan (Artistic Director of Scary Little Girls and co-founder of the Greenham Women Everywhere archive project) alongside Cornish bards Bec Applebee and Fiona O’Cleirigh will share the tales of the peace women—in both Cornish and English—creating an evening of rousing performances that honours their courage\, creativity and defiance.

SUMMARY:Songs & stories with Boilerhouse & Annamaria Murphy
DESCRIPTION:An evening of a cappella singing and magical storytelling from celebrated Cornish artists. Expect beautiful harmonies\, tall tales\, working songs and poetry — a warm\, generous night rooted in Cornwall. \nBoilerhouse are a five-piece a cappella group from Penzance with a growing reputation for their generous and joyful shows. Born in Polperro and now based in West Penwith\, Anna creates magical tales that combine humour with insight\, drawn from her long experience of writing stories\, poetry and plays. Her credits include Tristan and Yseult\, Red Shoes\, Don John and The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings. SUMMARY:A Woman Moved (rehearsed reading)
DESCRIPTION:A Woman Moved (rehearsed reading) Written by Richard Curnow and produced by What Now Productions \nDuring a fierce westerly storm\, Michael is swept off Mullion harbour wall. \nHis wife\, Jennifer\, discovers why he’s always been so keen to exclude her from his social life. \nCelia\, a devoted amdram diva\, discovers her psychic abilities aren’t as accurate as she’d once thought. \nBarry has always known life is complicated. \nA WOMAN MOVED explores the consequences of feeling unable to be true to oneself. Empathy\, the acceptance of otherness and the ability to forgive are all ways of moving on. Oh\, and having a good laugh also helps! \n \nThis event is a rehearsed reading\, which means the actors will still have scripts and may perform some scenes seated. There will be an opportunity to be involved in the development of the show and provide feedback to the performers and writer in a Q&A after the reading. \n \nA Woman Moved is written by Trevow Helston regular\, Richard Curnow. Richard\, performed our very first “tester show”\, Call Me Oz in 2024 and has brought several performances to us since\, including his series of solo shows based on Shakespearean characters\, Naming the View and Not Just For Christmas.

SUMMARY:Around About Dusk
DESCRIPTION:From Glastonbury to Trevow Chapel — New Orleans-tinged folk\, rich harmonies\, and macabre charm. \nA Bristol-based ensemble fusing New Orleans jazz\, European folk\, roots and blues into something utterly their own. \nAround About Dusk have played Glastonbury\, Cambridge Folk Festival\, and Secret Garden Party\, toured extensively across Europe\, and earned airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music. Drawing on musette\, chanson\, early jazz\, and roots traditions\, they’ve built a sound that’s warm\, distinctive\, and hard to forget. \nWith a debut album releasing in 2026 — an ambitious collaboration supported by Help Musicians — this is a chance to experience Around About Dusk in the intimate surroundings of Trevow Chapel.

SUMMARY:Stories from an Invisible Town
DESCRIPTION:“Winning performer” ~ The Guardian \nStep into a kaleidoscopic universe full of wonder\, nostalgia and magic as we enter the imaginary town Shôn lived in as a boy. A warm-hearted collection of stories full of wonder and curiosity – funny\, poignant\, real and magical tales about people living\, loving and doing their best to make the most of life. \n“A captivating storyteller” ~ Time Out \nWritten by “the great Welsh storyteller” (The Stage)\, Shôn Dale-Jones\, Stories from an Invisible Town is charming\, unsettling and full of surprises. Shôn’s storytelling will take you on a curious journey turning everything into fiction – into a world where all reality disappears… funny and thoughtful\, it is a fantastic story about letting go and moving on. \n“Genius” \n~ Pick of the Week\, BBC Radio 4 \nA fond tribute to childhood\, full of gratitude and warmth\, Stories From An Invisible Town introduces audiences to a half-real half-remembered half-imagined world set in the made up town of Llangefni on the fantastic Isle of Anglesey. \nThis magical web of endless stories celebrates the simple things that make up a real life; moving from the epic to the banal\, touching everything else between. The stories shift from the time the town decided to dig a big hole as a way of surviving long-term unemployment and in the hope they might find something that could save them from misery\, to the comic tale of a pony being sold as a horse\, to the extraordinary incident that occurred when Derwyn stole his sister’s bath and her teenage rage exploded. \nThe stories move seamlessly through the town\, along the river\, into the woods\, out of the shops and up to the clock tower picking up one character after another along the way. Audiences are introduced to an extraordinary web of stories that paint a picture of a fabulous town that they never want to leave. The whole of life lives here. Real\, imagined\, beautiful\, brutal\, full of kindness and cruelty\, fun and games and always a big surprise. The stories are told in episodes of varying length and include music\, poetry\, song and pure simple storytelling. \nPart theatre\, part storytelling\, part stand-up\, the show embraces our vulnerability\, celebrates difference and helps us rediscover the wonder of childhood’s unpredictable mind. \nRecommended age 14+ due to adult references including violence and abuse.

SUMMARY:Will Keating & The True Foxes
DESCRIPTION:Will Keating has become a firm favourite at the chapel\, returning time and again to play to sold-out audiences who come for his heartfelt songwriting and easy warmth. True Foxes\, meanwhile\, delivered one of our most-loved evenings when they played here — an intimate\, captivating night that audiences still talk about. Now\, for the first time\, they’re joining forces. \nThis winter\, Will and True Foxes hit the road together for an 18-date Cornwall tour\, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the chapel as part of it. Expect rich harmonies\, soulful storytelling\, and the kind of connection that only happens in candlelit rooms. From church chapels to coastal halls\, this tour captures the magic of Cornwall in winter — and there’s no better place to experience it than here.

SUMMARY:Women are Angry
DESCRIPTION:A safe space for women to experience\, befriend and learn about the causes of their anger and how best to manage this powerful force.\n\n\n‘I’m a therapist\, and I have something disturbing to tell you. Women are in trouble. An autoimmune condition ravages our bodies and minds. I witness the devastation daily. The symptoms vary – from obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) to anxiety\, from migraine to depression to eczema. And there’s a common cause: anger. Anger is eating us up\, from the inside out. The pressures heaped on women by every level of society\, and its systems\, leave us furious. But we’ve been conditioned not to recognise our rage\, so it burns behind the scenes. And from there\, it’s destroying us.’ \n~ Jennifer Cox Women Are Angry published in 2024 \n \nMany of us recognise this pattern – we grow up to be polite and not to express our anger. Yet we are often faced with situations not of our making that cause justifiable anger – being…

SUMMARY:Exhibition - All Our Bursting Treasure
DESCRIPTION:About the event\n\n\n\nAll Our Bursting Treasure A free-to-visit exhibition (no booking required) by Melanie Young \nOpen to the general public: 10am – 3pm on Saturday 15th\, Sunday 16th\, Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th and from 4-7pm on Thursday 20th. \nThrough painting\, installation\, and reclaimed domestic objects\, I trace the lingering imprints of what came before. My work explores motherhood\, inheritance\, and the enduring influence of female institutions\, asking how personal and collective memory intersect in the present. \nI’m drawn to the tension between what is revealed and what remains concealed—how memory flickers between presence and absence\, and how inherited structures shape our sense of self. The immediacy of paint and the physicality of installation serve as tools to engage with the emotional weight of family history\, particularly as it is carried by women.

SUMMARY:Sad Ballads & Crazy Salads
DESCRIPTION:About the event\n\n\n\nSad Ballads & Crazy Salads with Elaine Claxton & Rick Williams \nA night of miserable music and (not so) wise words with Rick and Elaine… Rick and Elaine think they met about 18 years ago and since then\, along with Rick’s brother Grev\, they have become friends and have sung together at various traditional music sessions in West Penwith and Bodmin folk club. It’s something of a standing joke that the songs are largely about drownings\, murder\, unrequited love\, grinding poverty and other such cheerful subjects. \n \nSo when Rick and Elaine decided to put together and evening of music and readings\, “Sad Ballads” came to mind. The “Crazy Salads” part of the title is a quote from a poem by Yeats\, commenting on the odd choices some “fine women” make. So the show will be a mixture of mainly sad songs\, and very varied selction of readings by or about women who have made choices out of the ordinary. Some wiser than others.
