UNTOLD: Helston’s Unexpected Stories

“UNTOLD: Helston’s Unexpected Stories” will reimagine how we tell the story of historic Helston. Through respectful research conducted by the team at the Museum of Cornish Life, we are discovering unexpected, surprising and remarkable stories from those at rest in the historic section of Helston Cemetery.

In a unique approach to storytelling, we’ll select one extraordinary life and present it as two interconnected live performances. The first act, staged on 26th February at the museum, will share with the audience our Helstonian’s childhood and early life. The second act, performed on 27th February at Helston Old Chapel, will tell the story of their later life and death.

Professional theatre-makers will collaborate to create an intimate and engaging live event of this discovered life from long ago.

This innovative project marks the beginning of a wider initiative to share more unexpected stories within our community’s heritage, creating surprising connections between past and present Helstonians.
