Sadly the Christmas lights won’t be taking place in Helston this year, but there are still lots of ways to get in the Christmas spirit – and support the community along the way.

Boost your Christmas Shopping at our Sunday Market

Following a successful Sunday Arts, Crafts and Produce Market in August, another is being planned for Sunday 6 December.

Subject to the end of the national lockdown the market, which meets all Covid-19 requirements, will be held in the Lower Trengrouse Way car park from 1030-1530.

Organsied by Helston Community Interest Company, the market will be a fantastic opportunity to shop locally from a range of sellers and get Christmas sorted.

For more information on how to book for the market (stalls are £30) please contact Jenny Morris on j558morris@btinternet.com

Christmas Window Display Competition

For the past two years a best window display competition during the festive season for businesses in the town centre.

Last year’s Christmas window winner

In spite of all the uncertainty surrounding us, organisers, Helston Community Interest Company are planning to go ahead with the Christmas 2020 competition and invite all businesses to take part. It’s a great opportunity to enter into the Festive spirit.

Judging will take place on Friday 11 December with the winner receiving a trophy and certificate, presented by Mayor John Martin.  Certificates will also be awarded to those in second and third places.
